My name is Nolan.
You can call me SoDak.
I currently reside in South Dakota. If you’ve heard that South Dakota is a barren wasteland filled with old farmers, crops, trucks, tractors, and country music, you’ve heard right. So, what is there to do in South Dakota? Not a whole lot, so I occupy my time with my family, my work for the University where I live, and personal computer projects revolving mostly around software development. I have not graduated the University yet, but hopefully will soon with a degree in computer science. I have no qualifications whatsoever to host a site aimed at informative responses to technological happenings. However, I believe the more information available, whether wholly informed or not, the better.
For review purposes I will post my current machine specifications, and my programming experience:
Sony VAIO VGN-FS980:
Pentium M (Centrino) 1.73 GHz
1 GB (DDR2 SDRAM)
120 GB Ultra ATA WD Hard Drive, 4200 RPM
Intel 915GM Chipset, 533 MHz Bus Speed
Intel ProWireless 2200 Wireless Card
Booting: Debian Lenny/Sid, Ubuntu 8.04 Hardy Heron, FreeBSD 7.0
Virtualizing: OpenSolaris 2008.05, ReactOS, OzOS
Programming projects:
AntiWM – minimalist window manager for X, inspired by ratpoison

I am also currently working on a custom Linux distribution based on Debian, an application launcher in Tcl/Tk, a Perl/Tk text editor in under 5 Kb, forgetting Java, and learning Common Lisp, Python, and Lua.
